long story short: my jw folks sold house in fla. and basically forced to stay at my house.
i forwarned mom that will have xmas decor up and the whole nine.

Thanks Blondie. As usual it's the fault of the rank & file for any congregational problems. I laugh at how they keep trotting out the example of David. By God's own rules he should have been put to death, but the rules were and continue to be bent for those in positions of authority. Amazing how some are given a pass using the imperfection escape clause while someone else will swing for it. Hypocrisy at its finest once again. Leslie

Thanks for sharing this article Moshe. Lack of care for the mentally ill is a huge problem even in Ontario where we have health costs covered. Many facilities that were available in the past are no longer open so many are left living on the streets without any kind of monitoring or treatment. Many times a mentally ill person will go off medication due to side effects or the mistaken idea that they are 'cured' and don't need them any more. Others fall through the cracks in the health care system until something horrific happens. Leslie

First Ex-JW Experience with XMas Spirit
by simon17 inso obviously as a recently parting jw, i've never had the hastle, the annoyance or the joy of experiencing christmas.
this year in our office was the first time that we did a secret santa, so i would joke with a few of the people looking for advice because i had never really celebrated christmas.
it was kind of a fun running joke for the past month or two, as they laughed and pitied over my past with me, which they pried about and i explained.

sd7 & Psacramento, very interesting points. It has been so long I can't remember but in a family is the disfellowshipped mate permitted to partake in worship within the family as an observer? If not, then why are they permitted basically as an observer into the KH?

JW tour bus crashes in Florida, with fatalities-
by moshe inmiami - a bus carrying 32 members of a church group hit a concrete overpass at miami international airport after the driver got lost, killing two elderly people on board and leaving three others critically injured, officials said saturday.. the large, white bus was too tall for the 8-foot-6-inch entrance to the arrivals area, said airport spokesman greg chin.
buses are supposed to go through the departures area, which has a higher ceiling, he said.. chin said the passengers told him they were part of a group of jehovah's witnesses headed to west palm beach.
police said in a news release that the group had chartered the bus to take them to a church convention there-.

This is so sad. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones and to those who suffered injury. When I was an active JW I always was excited and joyful while travelling to the assembly. I'm sure these JWs were the same. Joyful and eager to get to the assembly and then their joy is ripped away by unforeseen occurrence, injury and death. It is very sad. Leslie
